Our weekly rehearsals are the foundation of SPO’s musical journey. Students are placed into orchestras based on their age and ability, ensuring the right level of challenge and growth. When ready, they can move up without being required to stay in the same group for a fixed period. Guided by professional conductors and tutors, and surrounded by talented peers, students improve ensemble skills and musical expression in a focused and inspiring environment.

SPO presents a rich and diverse calendar of concerts throughout the year — far beyond standard student recitals. Our performances take place in a wide variety of settings and formats, ranging from chamber music and full symphonic works to cross-cultural collaborations and innovative stage productions.

Masterclasses

Our masterclasses invite professional musicians and educators to work directly with SPO members, offering expert feedback, technical advice, and musical inspiration. Opportunities include specialized AMEB masterclasses that help students prepare for their exams with greater confidence and insight.
